Privacy Policy

The short version: your stuff stays on your device. Oh, There It Is! helps you remember where you put your belongings. Everything you save (names, places, notes and photos) lives only on your own phone or computer. An account is optional. If you make one, we keep your email address, a scrambled version of your password and your plan on our server so that Plus can follow you to a new device.
What stays on your device
- Item names, locations, exact spots, categories, and notes you type or speak
- Photos you take or choose for your items
- If you sign in, the sign-in itself (so you stay signed in), along with your email address and your plan
Your saved things and photos are kept in your device's own browser storage. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared. We cannot see them — nobody can but you.
What the app sends to our server
Only the items below. None of it includes your saved things, photos, or notes.
- An account (optional). If you create one, we store your email address, your password (kept only in scrambled form, so we cannot read it), your plan (free or Plus), the date you signed up, and, if you arrived through a link that carried a short campaign label, that label. We email you once to confirm your address. When you start a Plus purchase on the web, we also keep the customer number Stripe gives us. You only need an account if you want to buy Plus on the web.
- An anonymous usage count. When the app opens, it sends a random number that was made on your device (it is not your name or email) so we can count how many devices use the app each day, along with the campaign label if you arrived through a link that had one.
- The tips list (optional). On the Welcome screen you can leave your email address to get occasional organizing tips and news about the app. We save it only if you type it and tick the box, and you can ask us to remove it at any time.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, and no ad or analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, ad pixels or social-media pixels)
- Your saved things, photos, notes and backup files are never sent to us
- We do not sell your personal information
- Your photos are never used to train AI models
Purchases
The optional Plus upgrade can be bought on the web through Stripe, or through Google Play where the app offers it. Those companies process your payment under their own privacy policies — we never see or store your card number. When you buy on the web, we give Stripe your email address so the purchase is tied to your account, and Stripe tells us whether the payment went through.
Other services the app talks to
- Google Fonts. The app's lettering is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for the font files. As with any web request, Google can see your device's IP address.
- Email. The confirmation emails we send (when you sign up and when you delete your account) go out through an email-sending service.
- Voice input. If you use the microphone button, your device's built-in speech-to-text service converts your speech to text. That service is provided by your device or browser and is subject to its own privacy policy. The app only receives the finished text.
Backups
The backup button creates a file on your device containing your saved items and photos. That file is yours — the app never sends it anywhere. Anyone you give the file to could read it, so store it as carefully as you would the things in it.
Delete your account
You can delete your account at any time, and it takes about a minute:
- In the app: open Settings, tap Delete my account in the Account box, and type your password. (The same button is in the account box on the Go Plus screen.)
- On the web: use our delete your account page and sign in with your email and password.
- Can't sign in? Email thebinderapps@gmail.com from the address you used and we will delete your account.
Deleting removes your account (your email address, password and plan) from our server, cancels any Plus subscription so you are not billed again, removes your address from the tips list if it is on it, and sends you a confirmation email. Plus is tied to your account, so it ends with the account. Payment records that Stripe or Google Play hold stay with them, under their own policies. The anonymous usage count is not linked to your name or email.
Deleting what is saved on your device
Deleting your account does not touch the things you saved, because they are only on your device. Delete any item inside the app, or use Settings → Erase everything to remove all of them. Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser's site data also removes everything.
Changes
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top first.
